A Message from Pastor Terry 3/18/2020

Good afternoon to our Destiny Family.  In light of the quarantine encouraged by our government officials, I have made the decision to cancel our Sunday morning services starting this Sunday, March 22nd until we are instructed by the CDC that gatherings over 100 people can resume. Please be on the lookout for additional information coming your way concerning our Sunday service return in our facility.

What do we do in the meantime?

I want each of you to explore a NEW way of doing church. We will make week 3 of The Elements of the Cross sermon available to you this Sunday followed by additional weeks of non-gathered teachings. These videos will be posted on our social media pages, they will be emailed to you with a link to “click & watch,” in addition to the availability of audio on our website.  We urge you to share these teachings offering optimism and JESUS to our panicked communities.

We still have a couple of small groups that have decided to meet in homes. These small group leaders will reach out to their members to let them know of gathering locations & times.  Please know that we ask you not to attend if you or any of your family members are not feeling well, or if you have knowingly been exposed to the Coronavirus or any other contagious sickness.

We have other small groups that have been extremely innovative creating their own social media pages to stay connected while challenging one another during this city-wide quarantine. Our Destiny Active Group will start posting how to stay healthy with nutritional tips to boost immunity along with home workouts and possible zoom discussions with open Q&A for health and nutrition bathed in encouragement.  If you are interested in joining this group, CLICK HERE to join allowing our leaders to invite you to this social media group and to connect with you in person after our obligatory quarantine is over.

Tracy and I will both be intentional in posting and emailing what God is saying to us all corporately during these trying times. I encourage you to reach out to those God places on your heart, be led by the spirit to connect with others offering hope and a simple hello. Be creative with reaching out to your neighbors and other church members and prayerfully consider gathering with a few in our homes for a chat, worship/prayer, or simple talk time.

Parents take this time to disciple your children.  Choose a different character quality, bible story, or biblical character to start conversations and dig into God’s word together as a family.  Our family has decided to take communion together with our children during night time prayers to remind them that we REMEMBER Him and all that He has done even in scary times.

Couples share your dreams of Destiny with one another and make plans to become a better version of yourself during this forced quiet time in our homes. Singles, find other like-minded individuals to creatively do life together in alternative ways. Let’s all reach out to our seniors to check on them, pray with them, and offer warm conversations. Lastly, place uninterrupted time in your day to spend one-on-one time listening to the voice of your Father.  Journal and share with others what He is saying to you. I invite you to share on our FB page your stories at http://www.facebook.com/destinychurchlv

I’m excited about what the spirit of God is doing in the midst of this world chaos! Please be in agreement with me that the awareness of the God’s glory be seen through these trying times. Habakkuk 2:14 “For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.”

Please reach out to us if you have specific needs other than prayer. We have team members on standby to point you toward local resources and to help how we can. Let us know if you have questions, concerns, or creative ideas to stay connected during these 30 days of confinement.

Tracy and I love you and there is nothing you can do about it!

Blessings,

Pastor Terry
